History or the VA Beginning Racer Program: In Late 2016, Hunter Allen convened a group of Virginia based Peaks Coaching Groups Coaches at a library in Charlottesville, near the UVA campus and began developing the framework for the BRP which is based upon the USAC Beginning Racer program. By March 2017, we had conducted our first full (2-1/2 Day) BRP clinic in Charlottesville with over 30 participants in attendance. Once of the graduates of the clinic, Noah Flaxman, went on the win as a Cat 4 rider in the Jeff Cup. Noah had participated in the clinic as a Cat 4 rider, just weeks prior to the race. Later that year we conducted two more one day clinics in conjunction with the Bryan Park Circuit Race and the Todd Stadium Criterium.
